Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute held a successful Library Charrette on December 9-10, 2025, bringing together students and staff to participate in shaping the future of the campus library. The two-day event served as a collaborative forum to gather preliminary stakeholder input on the library renovation design, ensuring that the voices of the SIPI community are heard in the early stages of the renovation project.

Participants engaged in interactive workshops, brainstorming sessions, and design activities aimed at identifying key priorities for the updated library space. Ideas ranged from creating more collaborative study areas and integrating advanced technology to enhancing accessibility and incorporating cultural elements that reflect the diverse heritage of SIPI’s student body.

“This charrette is an important step in making sure our library reflects the needs and aspirations of our students and staff,” said a SIPI staff member. “We are committed to creating a space that supports learning, innovation, and community.”

Architects and planners will use feedback collected during the charrette to develop initial design concepts, which will be shared with stakeholders in future meetings. The renovation project is part of SIPI’s broader initiative to enhance campus facilities and foster an environment conducive to academic excellence.

The SIPI Leadership Team expressed gratitude to all participants for their valuable insights and looks forward to continued collaboration as the project progresses.
